Just can't resist a full moon rising ...

This evening was perfect, clear, not cold, without a hint of a breeze - and no bugs. Must only happen about 1% of the time in Charleston. The moon was scheduled to rise at 6.37pm, and Nicole, Raymond and I were waiting for it on Tea Farm Creek. It was gorgeous. I think I'm going to stop trying to shoot a full moon rising - no image can ever do justice to the real thing.

Sunset over the Stono River

So it's gradually getting warmer - and not a moment too soon. Spent a busy day down on Edisto Island photographing the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Edisto Island National Scenic Byway - aka Hwy-174. Later I caught the sun as it was setting over the Stono River at low tide.

The Morning After

These are some pics from the morning after Charleston's historic couple inches of snow last night. Not impressive for some, but for those of us who live here ...

It's snowing in Charleston, SC!!

This is a big deal - the kind of deal that happens once every 10 years or so. I hope it will still be on the ground tomorrow. Downtown Charleston under snow would be a pretty neat photo opp!

Studio Work

Just got back from a studio workshop weekend in the small town of Richlands, NC, about 5 1/2 hours drive from Charleston. John and Teresa have a great studio there and some hugely creative techniques which I found very inspiring. We worked on lighting, photography as well as the business aspect of running a studio. Great stuff. This is one of my images of a couple who had scheduled an engagement session.
